Historic Postcard

This 1902 hotel and adjacent buildings received exterior restorations to re-establish their facades as they appeared in 1914. A winter fire in 1913 burned the third floor so badly that the owners elected not to replace it. The townspeople became so accustomed to the hotel having only two stories that we were instructed to replace the top entablature on the existing top floor. The hotel interiors were brought to modern standards to accommodate the arts and craft school guests for their week’s stay. All new air conditioning, plumbing, and conveniences were incorporated into the building’s existing features to maintain the hotel’s turn - of - the - century flavor.
