Belltower

This 90 foot tall solid masonry structure marks the heart of the Mississippi State University Meridian campus. The 14 foot x 14 foot x 90 foot tower has a structural frame of steel and concrete. The exterior skin of brick veneer is composed of a regular pattern of recessed, protruding and void openings that allow each of the four cardinal faces of the tower to capture sunlight. This display of shade and shadow creates the appearance of movement as the sun cycles throughout the day.
