Group W (CBS Westinghouse) Traveling Exhibit: Hartford, CT

Exhibit Elevations

The Front Facade:

The initial view from across the trade show floor is an impressive superstructure of custom metal truss work rising to the maximum show height. Immense hanging graphics, reminiscent of rad signs, provide immediate exhibit identification. Compelled to take a closer look, you notice clever and engaging relief graphics that surround pic bloc sign announcing current programs and activities. The facade of this fueling station is a futuristic diner with middle American architectural roots. The reception area is a wrap around beverage bar with chrome - based stools. The inner rooms of the diner provide ample storage space. The front room serves as the satellite office for the GWSC staff. A lounge with comfortable seating provides a relaxed and conversational atmosphere. Behind the sofa, a picture window gives a glimpse into the docking bays behind the diner.

The Docking Bays:

Moving further into the heart of the exhibit, transport trailers appear to be docked in a series of futuristic fueling bays. These mobile messengers have been transformed into graphic art objects and are painted with murals that capture the attitude of each cable station. A combination of large, clear and colored tubes twist and weave through the docking area loading light and color into the traveling container units. At the front of each docking bay is a 3’ x 3’ video wall that rythmically flashes programming in unison. The initial rear area of each trailer contains a vignette of designated programs using icons and pictures. Further inward, large rear projection screens highlight additional programs.
